Third driver to reach 2000 points

Fernando Alonso finishes fifth at the FORMULA 1 BRITISH GRAND PRIX 2022 to become only the third driver to reach 2000 points in F1 history. The Spaniard has been in great form in 2022 and produced another excellent drive at Silverstone. Having started in P7, Alonso was involved in some excellent duels with the likes of Hamilton, Leclerc and Perez and pushed for P4 right up until the end. The two-time World Champion took the 10 points and became only the third driver to reach the 2000 points mark in F1. It is indicative of a fantastic career in the sport where Alonso has gone down as an all-time great.
