Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre became the all-time leader in hits among Latin American-born players with a second-inning double against the Oakland Athletics for his 3,054th career hit, which broke a tie with Hall of Famer Rod Carew. The only foreign-born player in MLB history with more career hits than Beltre is Seattle Mariners outfielder Ichiro Suzuki, who currently has 3,082 career hits.
