David Price earned the win in Game 2 of the World Series, giving the Red Sox a 2–0 series lead. Price allowed two earned runs in six innings to earn the first World Series win of his career and his second straight Postseason victory. This followed six shutout innings in Game 5 of the American League Championship Series in Houston as the Red Sox clinched the AL the pennant.
