Anibal Sánchez carried a no-hitter into the eighth inning of NLCS Game 1 until Jose Martinez hit a two-out single. It marked the deepest unsuccessful individual no-hit bid in a Postseason game since 1967 (Jim Lonborg). Sean Doolittle relieved Sanchez and didn't allow a hit over 1.1 innings to cap a four-out save, and NLCS Game 1 win for the Washington Nationals.
