Howie Kendrick delivered a clutch two-run single in the eighth inning to break a 3-3 tie and lead the Washington Nationals to a 5-3 victory over the New York Mets on April 27. Kendrick's hit off Mets reliever Edwin Diaz scored Trea Turner, who had doubled to lead off the inning. The Nationals rallied from a 3-0 deficit in the sixth inning to tie the game before Kendrick's go-ahead RBI.
