Gerrit Cole carried the workload in the series opener against the Orioles by striking out a season-high 14 batters with no walks in seven strong innings. The Astros went on to win the game, 4-3, in the 11th inning when catcher Robinson Chironos delivered a two-out double to score Yuli Gurriel from first base.
