Brian McCann

Brian McCann became the first player in Yankees history to hit a walk-off home run in his first game at the new Yankee Stadium. The two-run shot in the bottom of the ninth off of Red Sox reliever Hunter Strickland gave New York a dramatic 6-4 victory on Opening Day. McCann, acquired in the offseason from the Astros, delivered a clutch hit in his first at-bat at the Stadium, sending a Strickland fastball into the right-field seats.
