Although he didn't start his Club's game against the Boston Red Sox, top Baltimore Orioles prospect Samuel Basallo came through when called upon. Pinch-hitting in the 11th frame of a 3-3 contest, Basallo smacked a chopper in front of home plate to allow the go-ahead run to score. The 21-year-old's clutch RBI proved to be the game-winner in a 4-3 win at Fenway Park.
