Gerrit Cole and Max Scherzer combined to strike out 25 batters over 13 innings as the Washington Nationals defeated the Houston Astros 7-2 in Game 2 of the World Series at Minute Maid Park. Cole struck out 12 over six innings and Scherzer fanned 13 in seven frames. The Nationals' offense backed them up with timely hitting, including a two-run homer by Adam Eaton.
