JULY 13, 1971 — Trailing, 3-2, the AL All-Star team received a pivotal blast off the bat of Orioles star Frank Robinson. The outfielder clubbed a two-run, go-ahead homer that gave the team a lead it did not relinquish for the remainder of the contest. The decisive home run earned Robinson the MLB All-Star Game MVP award.
