Don Mattingly

JULY 17, 1987 — During a torrid stretch, “Donnie Baseball” set the AL record for most consecutive games with a home run. Mattingly crushed a home run in his seventh straight contest to help fuel the Yankees to an 8-4 win over the Rangers. In those seven games, the superstar hit nine home runs and drove in 20 runs, leading the Yankees to five wins.
