Willie McCovey

JULY 30, 1959 — Willie McCovey wasted little time endearing himself to Giants fans with a massive four-hit MLB debut in front of the home crowd. McCovey debuted in the third spot of the lineup and hustled out two two triples, scoring three runs and driving in two others. The stellar performance led the Giants to a 7-2 win over the Phillies.
