SEPTEMBER 28, 2008 — When the Brewers acquired CC Sabathia in the middle of a pennant chase, they needed a dependable veteran ace. Sabathia delivered the goods. The 29-year-old led a 4-2 win over the Pirates with seven, one-run frames and 11 strikeouts. Four days later, the left-hander came right back out on short rest to face the Cubs. Sabathia fired a complete-game shutout and allowed just four hits to lead the Brewers to the Postseason.
