Spencer Howard

Spencer had his work cut out for him, drawing the reigning World Series champion Washington Nationals for his fourth career start on Monday night, but the Phillies top pitching prospect was up to the task. Howard worked five innings, allowing just two runs on five hits while striking out four. He was backed by early home runs in the first and second innings, and then a four-run output in the fourth helped him cruise to his first career MLB win.
