Admirable drive to get first career points

George Russell put in a fine performance in Bahrain to show his winning potential. The 22-year-old impressed Formula 1 fans around the world with a fantastic drive and claimed his first points. A strong qualifying campaign saw Russell start in second place on the grid. He quickly took the lead from teammate Bottas and looked at home at the front of the pack, building a lead with a display of consummate driving. Issues with tyres and a puncture saw Russell in the pit lane 4 times, which cost seconds that ultimately proved too much to overcome for the Englishman. Notwithstanding that, he demonstrated speed, talent and an ability to dominate a race, all of which belies his young age. This performance points to an incredible potential in the sport.
