After a weekend series against the Indians saw the team only score five runs in three games, the Royals erupted for a 14-6 win over the Tigers, tying a team record with six homers in the game. Leading the charge was offseason acquisition Maikel Franco, who hit his first two longballs in a Royals uniform, a second-inning solo shot and fourth-inning, three-run blast. Whit Merrifield, Salvador Perez, reigning American League HR champ Jorge Soler and Brett Phillips also got in on the action.
