Devin Williams excelled at limiting opportunities for opposing lineups all season, allowing just eight hits and walking nine batters in 27 innings pitched. With limited traffic on the bases, batters had little chance of scoring runs. Williams struck out 53 batters and allowed just one earned run in 22 appearances. The stellar season earned Williams the NL Rookie of the Year Award.
