Max Scherzer

Max Scherzer set the tone on the mound yesterday with another masterful outing. The seven-time MLB All-Star hurled six scoreless innings and earned his first win of the 2021 season in a 1-0 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals. During Scherzer’s nine-strikeout effort, the ace passed Mike Mussina on the MLB all-time strikeouts lists. The right-hander finished the game with 2,817 punchouts in his career – good for 21st on this prestigious list. “Mad Max” is now 16 strikeouts away from hurdling the legendary lefty-hander Mickey Lolich.
