AUGUST 2, 1950 — Bob Lemon set the tone for his club on the mound and with his bat in the Cleveland Indians 11-0 victory over the Washington Senators at Cleveland Municipal Stadium. The righty hurler from San Bernardino, California, twirled a complete-game shutout and fanned eight batters to earn his 17th win of the 1950 season. On the offensive side of things, Bob bolstered his cause on the bump and connected for a three-run home run in the seventh inning for his fifth longball on the year.
