OCTOBER 23, 1993 — With a three-games-to-two edge in the 1993 World Series, the Blue Jays headed back to the SkyDome for Game 6 with a chance to capture the title. Trailing, 6-5, in the bottom of the ninth inning with runners on first and second base, Joe Carter was up to bat looking to end the game. Carter connected on an inside pitch and sent it over the left-field wall for a walk-off, World-Series-clinching blast. The 52,195 fans erupted as Carter rounded the bases with fireworks exploding in the background. Joe was carried off the field on his teammates shoulders.
