Gerrit Cole now owns the record for most consecutive strikeouts (61) without issuing a walk during any stretch of a season. The MLB record was previously set at 58 last week by Milwaukee Brewers ace, Corbin Burnes. Cole went into Monday evening's contest with 56 strikeouts since his last walk on April 12 and was able to fan five Texas Rangers batters before he issued his first walk to Joey Gallo in the third inning.
