Carlos Rodón and Jordan Montgomery became the first two starting pitchers of the modern MLB era to both record 10-plus strikeouts with no runs allowed and zero walks issued. Rodón would go on to toss six innings of scoreless ball as he fanned a career-high 13 New York Yankees hitters. Montgomery went stride-for-stride with Carlos as he hurled seven shutout innings of his own with a career-high 11 punchouts. Both pitchers combined for just six hits allowed over 13 innings of work with 24 strikeouts.
