The first 1-3-6-2-5-6 triple play in MLB history was turned by the New York Yankees against the Toronto Blue Jays. It all started with a Vladimir Guerrero Jr. groundball back to pitcher Michael King for an easy 1-3, which froze Bo Bichette and Marcus Semien on the base paths at second and third. With Bichette stuck between second and third base, DJ LeMahieu instinctively tossed it to Gleyber Torres to commence a rundown. This heads up throw incentivized Semien to head for home, but then got out in a rundown between third and home. The Yankees were able to tag out both Bichette and Semien stuck in their respective run downs to complete the triple play.
