The weather wins at Spa

In an historic race, of sorts, the 2021 Belgian Grand Prix will long be remembered as the race that involved no racing. Torrential weather conditions meant the initial start was delayed. The drivers then followed the safety car out for the track to be declared too wet. There was a delay of nearly three hours before they again followed the safety car out of the pit lane, only to return three laps later with the race red flagged for the final time. With less than 75% of the laps taking place, the drivers received half points for their final positions. With an official race time of 3 minutes, 27.071 seconds it is the shortest race in Formula 1 history.
