In a very special pregame ceremony, the Boston Red Sox welcomed back 14-year veteran second baseman Dustin Pedroia for a proper retirement ceremony in front of almost 37,000 fans packed in the stands. The former Rookie of the Year and AL MVP Award winner, who formally announced his retirement earlier this year, was joined by former teammates and received a touching video message from David Ortiz. The Red Sox surprised everyone at the ballpark by announcing that Dustin would be part of the 2022 Red Sox Hall of Fame induction class.
