Entering the bottom of the 12th inning trailing the Boston Red Sox, 6-4, the Oakland Athletics turned to Seth Brown to get their rally started. With runners on first and second base, Brown delivered an RBI single to bring the score to 6-5. Jed Lowrie followed up with a double to left field that plated another run to tie the game, 6-6. Tony Kemp then sealed the extra-innings comeback with a sacrifice fly to deep center field.
