In the series opener between the New York Yankees and the Seattle Mariners, Luke Voit put on an offensive clinic with a career-high, five-hit night. The 30-year-old slugger from Wildwood, Missouri finished the contest going 5-for-6 at the dish with one run scored and three RBI. Voit's efforts were highlighted by his two-run knock in the top of the second inning and an RBI-single in the top of the fifth inning. The Bronx Bombers would go on to win 12-1.
