Victory after gripping due with Hamilton

Max Verstappen won a gripping and thrilling race after a tense final lap showdown with Lewis Hamilton at the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix. Verstappen started the race on pole but a great start from Hamilton saw him take the lead into turn one. An excellent pit strategy and a fast car soon saw the 24-year-old Dutch driver back in front of his British rival. With both drivers far ahead of the chasing pack, it soon became an epic duel between two Championship contenders. Hamilton was quick in the final stages of the race but Verstappen held on with an incredible display of defensive driving to claim the win and increase his lead at the top of the Drivers' Championship.
