Tim Anderson strung together two clutch at-bats to close out the matchup between the Chicago Cubs and the Tampa Bay Rays. Trailing 5-4 in the top of the ninth inning, the former AL Batting Title recipient connected on a hanging slider, delivered from J.T. Chargois, and he sent it over the center-field wall for a game-tying blast to force extra-innings. Anderson would strike again in the top of the 11th inning with a go-ahead base hit to gain a 6-5 lead. The White Sox would scratch another run to cement a 7-5 victory.
