In the bottom of the fifth inning in the cross-town matchup between the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Cubs, José Abreu connected for a two-run, ground-rule double. The reigning American League MVP connected on an 89-mph sinker, delivered from Kyle Hendricks, and sent it over the center-field wall on a hop. With this knock, Abreu became the first player in 2021 to reach to 100-RBI mark. José also joins Paul Konerko and Frank Thomas as the only players in franchise history with six-plus, 100-RBI seasons.
