In the top of the first inning in the contest between the Toronto Blue Jays and the New York Yankees, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. punched a hanging curveball, delivered from Jameson Taillon, and sent it over the right-field wall for a solo homer. With this blast, at age 22 years and 174 days, Guerrero Jr. became the youngest player in franchise history to hit 40 longballs in a single season. Vladimir would finish the game 3-for-5 with one run scored and an RBI.
