Ted “Simba” Simmons was the final name selected into the MLB Hall of Fame Class of 2020. The Highland Park, Michigan, native was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the first round of the 1967 MLB Draft and from there went on to compile a brilliant 21-year, big-league career. Simmons was named to eight MLB All-Star teams and played his last game in 1988. “There are many roads to Cooperstown,” Simmons said. “For some, it comes quickly. And for others, it takes a little time. For those like myself, the path is long. And even though my path fell on the longer side, I would not change a thing.”
