Enrique Hernández

Enrique Hernández delivered a clutch two-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift the Red Sox over the Blue Jays, 5-4. The go-ahead hit came off Toronto reliever Anthony Bass, capping a dramatic comeback after Boston trailed late in the game. Hernández, who had entered the game as a pinch-runner, stayed in to bat and drove in the winning runs with a sharp single to left field. The Red Sox improved to 12-10 on the season with the victory.
