In recognition of two incredible single-season performances, the 2021 MLB Most Valuable Player Award winners are Angels designated hitter and pitcher Shohei Ohtani and Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper. The pair share a common thread, as they both have won the AL and NL Rookie of the Year Award, respectively, as well as at least one Silver Slugger Award. This is the first career MVP Award for Ohtani, while Harper claims his second career MVP nod.
