Hall-of-Fame outfielder Dave Winfield amassed 3,110 hits and 465 home runs over the course of his Major League Baseball career. However, during a contest between his Angels and the Boston Red Sox, Winfield notched the 2,500th hit of his career. This milestone hit was a first-inning, ground-ball single after Winfield connected with a pitch from Red Sox hurler Tom Bolton. Unfortunately, Winfield's Angels went on to lose the contest, 6-3.
