President George W. Bush attended Game 3 of the 2001 World Series, becoming the eighth President to attend a World Series contest. The game was between the New York Yankees and the Arizona Diamondbacks and resulted in a 2-1 Yankees victory. President Bush, who threw out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium, was given a standing ovation as the crowds' "USA!" chants filled up the ballpark.
