Incredible drive for points finish

Fernando Alonso battled from the back of the grid to make a points finish in his home race at the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA 2022. After being forced to change his power unit, Alonso had to start at the back of the grid in his home race. You should never write off the two-time world champion though. Alonso was soon racing up the grid, speeding past both Williams and Aston Martin F1 cars in an impressive show of racing. An excellent tyre strategy meant the Alpine F1 car had an advantage over the others with Alonso holding off Tsunoda and Vettel to take P9. He was rewarded with two vital championship points and a magnificent drive in front of his home crowd.
