Mark Appel

Although last night's contest between the Atlanta Braves and the Philadelphia Phillies ended in a 4-1 Phillies loss, the long-awaited debut of 2013's first-overall draft pick, Mark Appel, still gave Phillies fans something to celebrate. Appel was called in to close the contest and pitched a very respectable ninth inning, striking out one Braves batter while allowing just one hit. Appel's delivery was professional, and certainly, left Phillies fans excited to see more of the 30-year-old Houston, Texas native.
