Jeremy Peña hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the top of the eighth inning to lift the Astros over the Mariners, 3-2. The solo shot by Alex Bregman in the seventh tied the game, but Peña's clutch blast in the eighth gave Houston the lead for good. Peña, who was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts before this at-bat, drove a 1-1 pitch from Luis Castillo over the left-field wall to break a 2-2 deadlock. The Astros' bullpen held on to secure the win, with Ryan Pressly earning the save.
