Set team record with 20 strikeouts in single contest

While Sunday's contest with the Angels ended with the fireworks of a walk-off homer by Jeremy Peña, it was the shut down pitching by the Houston Astros pitching staff that kept the game close. Four pitchers combined for a 20-strikeout performance – the most ever for the franchise in a single game. Starter Framber Valdez led the effort with 13 punchouts over six innings – a career-high mark.
