George Russell

George Russell clinches his highest finish of the season with an assured drive in the FORMULA 1 DUTCH GRAND PRIX 2022. In a competitive start to the race, Russell was taken by Norris, before reclaiming P6 on lap 5, the lead changed hands multiple times as each team looked to get their strategy right. Pitting on lap 32, Russell moved on to hard tyres and both Mercedes began to chase down Perez, quickly taking P4 by lap 39. Following a VSC he passed Leclerc to claim P3. He then made another pit stop to change to soft tyres, managing to retain track position on lap 58. With eyes on second place, and the highest finish for the team this season, Russell then passed his teammate who had not changed from medium compound tyres. It was an excellent drive from Russell, who underlined Mercedes return to competition for the top spot.
