After his New York Mets took home the victory in the day game of their day/ night doubleheader meeting with the Atlanta Braves, Max Scherzer had an incredible on-the-mound performance in the night contest. Scherzer threw for seven scoreless innings, giving up just four hits, and striking out an incredible 11 Braves batters in the process, paving the way for his Club’s eventual 6-2 victory. Incredibly, this marked Scherzer’s 109th game with 10 or more strikeouts, edging him past Pedro Martinez to become fourth on the all-time list for 10-plus-strikeout games.
