Incredibly, this moved Scherzer past Hall-of-Famer Pedro Martinez for 13th place on the all-time strikeouts list. Additionally, Scherzer notched two more strikeouts over the course of his outing and is now behind 12th-place Fergie Jenkins, who had 3,192 career strikeouts.
