George Russell

George Russell claimed his first F1® victory with a fantastic race at the FORMULA 1 GRANDE PRÊMIO DE SÃO PAULO 2022. Russell started the race in pole position thanks to victory in Saturday's sprint win. He started amazingly, pulling into the lead with teammate Lewis Hamilton behind him. Russell managed to stay clear of several incidents and held his lead through multiple safety cars. Despite a good effort from Hamilton in P2, Russell was unbeatable and took the chequered flag for his first F1® win. The Englishman debuted in 2019 and has enjoyed an incredible 2022 in his first season with Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team.
