As part of yesterday afternoon's 8-3 St. Louis Cardinals victory over the Chicago Cubs, veteran Cardinals first baseman Paul Goldschmidt connected for two longballs and collected five RBI. After hitting an RBI-single in the fourth inning of the contest, Goldschmidt's first homer, a solo blast over the left-field wall, was belted in the sixth inning. His second was driven long over the center-field-wall just two innings later and was good for two runs.
