After his four-strikeout performance in last night’s contest between the New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays, Gerrit Cole tied the franchise’s single-season strikeout record by notching the 248th of his 2022 Major League Baseball campaign. The record was previously held alone by Ron Guidry, who collected 248 in 1978. Cole, who’s more than likely to start in another contest before the conclusion of the regular season, is now in an excellent position to steal the top spot away and hold the Club record on his own.
