After finishing as a runner up in MVP voting in both 2013 and 2015, Paul Goldschmidt was crowned the 2022 National League MVP last night. Goldschmidt, at 34 years-old, became the ninth-oldest player to take home the award, and did so by having one of the best seasons of his career, leading the NL in both slugging percentage and OPS. Goldschmidt’s day-in, day-out work ethic was lauded by teammate Albert Pujols, who proudly announced Goldschmidt as the winner last night.
