Scott Rolen

On Tuesday evening, the game's highest honor was bestowed on one of the best defensive third basemen in recent history. Scott Rolen was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame's Class of 2023, joining Fred McGriff, who was elected earlier last month. Rolen, a 17-year veteran who played in Philadelphia, St. Louis, Toronto and Cincinnati, captured NL Rookie of the Year honors in 1997, was named to seven MLB All-Star Games, won eight defensive awards and a World Series ring in 2006. He stated he is still deciding between a Phillies or Cardinals cap on his plaque.
