The Arizona Diamondbacks picked up a much-needed win, thanks in large part to their NLCS Game 3 starting pitcher. Right-hander Brandon Pfaadt stepped up big time for his Club, silencing the Philadelphia Phillies batters over five and 2/3 scoreless innings to go along with nine punchouts. The rookie’s strikeouts are the second-most by a rookie player without allowing a walk in Postseason history, behind only Don Newcombe (11) in 1949. Pfaadt is the first pitcher in Postseason history to not allow a run or walk in consecutive starts.
