A familiar face returned to Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago on Friday night and the fans that cheered him on for the past nine seasons were happy to welcome him back. José Abreu, who signed with the Houston Astros this past offseason, received a standing ovation before his first at-bat as he led off the top of the second inning. An AL Rookie of the Year back in 2014 and Most Valuable Player recipient in 2020, Abreu slugged 243 homers in 1,270 games for the Club.
